Top Tips for the Cosiest Autumn Road Trip in Your Campervan
Summer is drawing to a close, and while July and August are always extremely popular for campervan and motorhome trips, the autumn seasons can be perfect for a road trip adventure. Here are our top tips for leaning into this gorgeous time of year.
Choose Locations That Come Alive in Autumn
Many areas close to our Preston depot have stunning scenery as the leaves change. The Lake District and Peak District have fantastic areas of red and orange foliage to admire. Further afield, autumn is a brilliant time to do the NC500 – you’ll miss the summer crowds, and the mozzies!
Slow Cook a Cosy Meal
If you want a cosy evening in on your campervan or motorhome trip, consider bringing a slow cooker.
All vehicles are supplied with an oven, hob and grill, but something about a slow cooked meal is perfect for a crisp autumn day. Plus, it creates more time for you to explore!
Most brands are very low wattage making them fine to use in your vehicle. Set it off while you enjoy your day and by the evening you could have a hearty stew, casserole, roast or chilli!
Light Up the Night
Solar powered fairy lights and battery powered candles are available in most major supermarkets and home stores. They are a lovely and safe way to make a cosy glow inside and outside of your campervan or motorhome.
Make the Most of No Baggage Limit
One of the best things about motorhomes and campervans is you don’t have the baggage limit of flights. So you can pack as many cosy blankets, decorations and jumpers as you like.
Embrace Slow Living
There is nothing cosier than curling up, looking out of your window at beautiful autumn scenery while your kettle starts to whistle on the hob to tell you your coffee is nearly ready. Make the most of the slower pace that autumn provides – there’s no rush to beat the crowds to the best spots on your journey so you can relax and enjoy your day at your own pace.
